I had my first annual “Drinks and Donation” night. I invited some friends over for some food, some beverages and some good conversation. Each person brought over something to donate to Womanspace, a local shelter. Everyone was so generous and it was such a fun evening. I will definitely be hosting another night like this in the future. You can’t beat spending time with good people in support of a great cause.

Our neighbor gave Ben this toy where you try to get all 5 tops to spin while they are stacked up. It is such a simple toy and has already provided hours of fun!

This time of the year calls for hot cocoa with LOTS of marshmallows.

Ben was so excited to go out and play in the first snowfall of the season. I am not a cold weather girl, but nothing beats seeing how much fun My Boys have out there in a sea of white!
December 25 {Day 249}
In Family, Friends on December 25, 2010 at 10:37 pm
This is the calm after the storm. We were opening gifts bright and early, at 7:30am. The rest of the day was delightfully lazy. The Boys played with their new goodies intently for hours. That alone was enough of a Christmas gift for me. We stayed in our jammies till well past 3pm, then finally headed over to our friends house for dinner and good company. We had a really lovely day.
December 24 {Day 248}
In Family, Friends on December 24, 2010 at 10:05 pm
This is the first Christmastime that we will not be spending with family. We miss them and love them, but we are starting our holiday tradition at home this year. We shared this Christmas Eve with friends and indulged in food, drink and fun. The kids watched the train go around the tree, exchanged gifts, and ran off all the sugar they had snacked on. It was a wonderfully pleasant way to kick off this holiday weekend.
December 23 {Day 247}
In Jenn, Robert on December 24, 2010 at 2:37 pm
Robert and I baked together for the first time. We made allergy friendly cookies, Snickerdoodles, that not only were they easy for him to help make, but he could eat them too. These are the 6 that he picked out specifically for Santa. We also make pretzel and chocolate (dairy free chocolate) clusters. They looked a bit funky, but Robert said they were very tasty. It was a lot of fun, and not as much of a mess as I expected, so it was a win-win.
December 22 {Day 246}
In Friends on December 22, 2010 at 9:34 pm
This is Natalie. I got to spend time with her and her sister today while their Mama attended a holiday shin-dig. Hanging with just the girls (Robert was in school and Ben was napping) was fun. I got to play different games than I usually do with My Boys. We had a pretend wedding where we married off two of the Nutcrackers. The dolphin Pillow Pet was our flower girl and the snowman was the ring bearer. Then we repositioned all the holiday window decals into different families. Lastly, we discussed, in great detail, about the things Natalie hopes to receive from Santa. I don’t know exactly what a “Five Year Old Cape” is, but I sure hope Santa does, because she mentioned it many times! All the while, her sister Miranda smiled, ate and played happily. Are all little girls this easy to hang with?
December 21 {Day 245}
In The Boys on December 21, 2010 at 10:29 pm
The Boys enjoyed their shopping outing to Five Below today. I told them they could pick out whatever they wanted to give their dad for Christmas. They made some good selections, that strangely enough, were on their wish lists. I think that soon after Sean opens the gifts, The Boys will try to make those gifts their own. I think Sean won’t mind, either!
