Birthday dandelions from Ben. Can’t think of a better way to kick off a new year than with a new blog. Check out my new site our life {through my lens}. Looking forward to another year of family+friends+photography fun!

Sean documenting me documenting him. As we drove home from Robert’s t-ball practice I told Sean that I could not believe a year has passed and that today was my last PML {365} photo. He looked at me and laughed. This isn’t your last post. I know you. You are not done.

I liked this fortune a lot. Sounds like some good advice to me.

No trip to Wegmans is complete without watching the little trains chug by. At least twice.

It has almost been a year since I started this blogging project and made photography a huge part of my life. Living it and breathing it filled me with a renewed sense of creativity that lead me to take it a step further and make it my new career path. It is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Never before did I think that I could spend 8 hours laughing and having fun doing my job. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t always that way, but pretty darn close. I spent this morning photographing a 4 day old little baby, then the afternoon doing portraits of a bride and groom in Princeton. That is how I spend my work days. I am very lucky.

Ever since I was little I was always excited to get the mail. Not sure why, I rarely received anything in the mail as a child, but it was super exciting if I did. Even now, Sean never gets the mail, since he knows it is something I like to do. More than not, the most interesting things in the mailbox are the grocery flyers or a random catalog mixed in with the never-ending bills. But every so often you get a little gem. I received a card, out of the blue, the other day from a dear friend and have been smiling about it ever since. It seriously made me teary just reading it. I often think about when I used to sit down and write letters to friends and family, and I miss that. I am putting that on my list of things to do as I enter this 38th year of life.

P.S. – Thank You (you know who you are).

We celebrated a friend turning the big 4-0. She was even a good sport and played a game we had called “Which is older? Joanne or (U2/Cabbage Patch Dolls/etc…)”. Mix that with some good friends, tasty food and champagne drinks, and it was a great way to spend a Friday.

Robert and the other little guys gathered around Coach Jay for their first t-ball practice. It was an equal mix of excitement, chaos and dirt. Robert could not wait to run the bases and get up there to hit. I have to admit I liked being on the field watching much better than being rink side. I look forward to seeing how Robert handles a team dynamic and watching the first real game will be fun. Good times ahead!

The Boys enjoyed their first trip to a laundromat. They walked up and down the rows of washers and dryers and announced which ones were running and which ones were empty. When it was time to go, Robert asked if we could please come back soon, because it was so much fun.

My house is full of notes and wipe-off boards with reminders and lists. Yet, somehow, I still manage to forget to do stuff. For the most part though, this is the only way for me to keep up with everything that is going on in our busy household.
