Robert and the other little guys gathered around Coach Jay for their first t-ball practice. It was an equal mix of excitement, chaos and dirt. Robert could not wait to run the bases and get up there to hit. I have to admit I liked being on the field watching much better than being rink side. I look forward to seeing how Robert handles a team dynamic and watching the first real game will be fun. Good times ahead!

I still get surprised by the activities that can occupy Robert’s time. He took out our tape measure and put on his bike helmet (you can never be too safe!) and just measured everything.

It had been a whole 24hrs since I had taken out my camera, so I was jonesing to take some shots. Thankfully my oldest son is a ham, and loves being my model!

I registered Robert for Kindergarten this afternoon. I was able to meet his principal and spent some quality time with the school nurse, discussing all of the allergy/asthma issues Robert has. She put me at ease and let me know her door is open to me at anytime. I still can’t believe he will be old enough to go to school next fall. I swear it was just the other day that I brought that 8lb bundle of joy home from the hospital. It is crazy how quickly time flies.

Today was kind of a blah Monday. We had to go to the doctor for Ben, Robert’s asthma was acting up and followed that up by spending a bunch of time on the phone trying to make appointments for future doctors visits. So, when this long day was finally ending, I didn’t know if I was still up for the task of making and decorating a cake for one of Robert’s friends. Well, I am so glad I did it. It was the most fun I had all day. Not only did I get to be creative, but I got to be super girly, too. In fact, I think I went a little overboard with the frilly, princess, girly girl decorating. But, it was so much fun!

Today my friend, Jill, celebrated her daughter’s 4th birthday. I offered to come and take pictures for her, since she already had enough on her plate, with a house full of guests and a party to run. Robert joined me to help Maya celebrate, and it took a while for him to warm up to all the new people he was meeting, but eventually, he did. We both left there so happy that we had gone and feeling so lucky that we both have such good friends.
